I have had many people ask if they could do something. Here is a way to help. It cost around $150.00 to start a hive and it takes a lot of work to keep. If you wish to help make a difference any amount would be appreciated. A full donation will get you a new box of bees and I will manage them in one of our apiaries. You can decorate the hive if you wish.

Southern peas, black-eyed peas and field peas are all names for the crop known worldwide as cowpeas (Vigna unguiculata ssp. unguiculata)according Clemson University. What I have is a Purple Hulled variety but I can't remember what the supplier call them 20 years or so ago. Maybe one of these days I will find the old receipts. Anyway the seeds ripen into a solid light brown color and earlier than the Polecat peas that I grow.

Apple-green foliage covered in little yellow daisies through summer. These carefree annuals thrive in full sun and ordinary garden soil. The growth habit of individual plants may vary somewhat, but in general each plant will eventually become a flowering mound that can reach 1-2 feet tall and wide. Butter daisies can be planted at any time during the summer. They will need daily watering for the first week after they are planted, but after they get their roots down, they can survive even dry Athens summers with no pampering at all. Butter daisies will reseed themselves. We use them as happy fillers every year in our flower gardens, letting them come up where they may. (They are prolific but not a nuisance, because any strays can easily be pulled up.)
